THE GODMOTHER

I was thrilled to receive an email today from my college barkada, Nixon, and his wife Lee, asking me to be ninang to their unica hija Sophie. I ecstatically and immediately accepted -- good thing Nixon was online at the time. He also invited my other two best girl friends, Myrene and Marilie to be ninangs. Too bad Myrene and I can't make it, since we are both not in Manila. I could imagine the three of us wearing tiny fairy wings, with magic wands in hand, fussing over the baby like the kulit fairy godmothers in Sleeping Beauty.


That brings the count to seven. These are my godchildren, in chronological order. I hope I haven't forgotten anyone!
