FEELING PROUD, FEELING BETTER

02blog 01blog

When Edge picked up Diego from school last Friday, Diego had a big smile on his face. When he got into the car, he proudly showed his father a white piece of paper that said "Certificate of Merit". It was given to him for "working well in class." This award seems to be at least a notch higher than the "Student of the Week" award sticker that is now prominently displayed on the rear window of our car. This one, is signed by the ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL (whoaaaaa!) This boy always finds something to make us feel proud of him!

A DAY AT THE BEACH

Last January pa, Tita Cookie Holzner, who is the best friend of my Tita Tictac, invited us to her newly renovated apartment by the beach. That far back, we had set the date for March 18 and so when the date came, we drove 1 hour and 20 minutes to get there. It was a very pleasant drive, with many plants and trees along the way, and beautiful houses to look at. Actually, Luis fell asleep in the car and Diego was in his Gameboy world so it was a truly pleasant drive!

The first thing Edge and the boys wanted to do was go to the beach! Tito Joaquin was game too! I didn't feel like getting wet, but they pulled me downstairs as well. I didn't bring my camera for fear of getting some sand in it. I took the picture of the view of the beach from their balcony on the fourth floor. The kids didn't want to go into the water but they wanted to build sand castles. So while the two "older boys" went for a swim, the two smaller ones built roads and tunnels and castles in the sand. Then we walked further up the beach a bit, where there was a swimming people that utilized water coming in from the sea. There was a pool for adults, and a kiddie pool as well. While the kids took a dip, I looked at the interesting rock formations further up the beach. I really wished I had my camera with me at that time!

We got back to the house at 2:00 p.m. and Tita Cookie had lunch ready. She prepared beef stroganoff, roast chicken and salad. For dessert we had delicious leche flan with vanilla ice cream. Luis enjoyed himself immensely because aside form the dessert, Tita Cookie also had lots of little chocolates for him to munch on.

It was just such a relaxing and perfect day. The sun came out for a few hours but it wasn't too hot as there was a strong wind blowing my hair the whole time. I remember falling in love with their house in Wahroonga when I saw it. Ngayon, in love na naman ako sa bahay nila sa Collaroy. Hay naku, kailan kaya?
