REPORTING FOR DUTY, MA'AM!

Tita Lory, this is for you!

Ever since my parents got here last Wednesday, we have done nothing but shop, shop, shop and eat, eat, eat. This is going to be a very boring blog entry, and no pictures have been taken yet so please bear with me.

Wednesday, December 14 :
In the morning, I went to my office to meet my boss and be introduced around the office. I was in at 9 am and luckily, was let off at 12:00. I was able to go with Edge to pick up the parents from the airport. Anyway, back to my office. I have a desk, a computer (my monitor has a flat screen!), and a telephone. My desk is facing a big window, with a big tree right in front. The people seem friendly, the bosses are friendly. From what I know about what my job will be, it's very similar to what I was doing at Xavier as a Guidance Counselor, but on a much grander scale.

When we got to my house at around 2 pm, Edge cooked lamb steak and made a salad and we ate quickly because both grandparents wanted to pick up their grandchildren from school and daycare. Then, because Mom is notorious for her addiction to going to the grocery, we decided not to buy yet ulam and wait for Mom to be the one to choose. So we all went to the grocery and bought stuff. We had a late dinner, and we all slept late -- Luis with Lolo Ed and Diego with Lola Mei.

Thursday, December 15
We wanted to go to a mall that day, but we decided to wait for Edge, who went to the parlor to have his hair dyed. He has blond streaks! When he got back, we had a quick lunch and then zoomed off to the mall. It's corny to shop here because things are so expensive! Plus, we had to rush back to pick up Diego at 3 pm.

Friday, December 16
With both kids in school, me and the parents decided to take the train to the next suburb, Mt. Druitt, where we did some shopping again. Things still quite expensive, impossible to buy anything, especially with Mom constantly telling me how much this would cost in 168.

Saturday, December 17
Today the kids had swimming class. Edge had the car, so we had to walk. Woolworth's was across the street from the pool, so of course, Mom just had to pay homage to her Mecca. Chinny and her kids came for lunch and stayed until almost 5 pm. Chinny and I made kwento, looked at catalogues and attempted to have a French manicure while "Inday" (Mom) looked after her 3 kids and my 2 kids! We kept teasing her the whole time, but she enjoyed being called "Lola" by Chinny's kids.

When Chinny and her kids left, 4 out of the 6 of us fell asleep!

More updates to come! Promise! Especially when Gogi gets here.
